This is a programme for Youth at Risk that we run when we receive specific funding to enables us to run it.
The programme runs for one year and costs us R160.000.00
- 10 -12 boys identified by the school or the community development workers
- 1 x 2 hour sessions a week run by our Social Auxiliary Worker around personal development, life skills, resilience building, anger management and positive life choices
- 1 x community development mentor available to them any time between these sessions as a life coach and support system with a strong emphasis on exercise and outdoor activities
The end goal for each of the boys is that they either re-enter secondary education or a FET College.
It is a very structured programme. They get their team uniform, monthly toiletries, food at each session, all the programme materials needed and their costs are covered for all their reward outings.
We have run this programme in Masi and in Hout Bay.
